We started subscribe to Bokksu when pandemic hit, since we can’t taste Japan snacks. We are happy customers of Bokksu, still remembered when they first box arrived. How nostalgic! For first time subscriber will receive the “Taste of Japan” theme, it’s like “must-try” snacks from all over Japan that the Bokksu team curated. After that, we will receive snacks following their Monthly Theme.

Per box contains around twenty snacks (sweet and savory), also a tea bag. They also include the allergen info and maker story, which is nice in my humble opinion. Usually the shipping takes 1-2 weeks to Indonesia using Japan Post. When arrived to Indonesia, after process through customs (we need to pay 50K IDR), the packet will then continue to process with Pos Indonesia. Usually we pay cash to the courier, but sometimes when the delivery get delayed we pay transfer through Virtual Account so that we don’t get charge the overnight fine.
Price (include shipping) for 1-month subscribe is $49.99 , and also they have cheaper plan for 3-months, 6-months, and 12-months. How do you think? Is it worth? If we want to delayed/pending for next shipment (if we think we had enough snacks, or next month theme is not our taste), we can just email their customer service. I must say their customer service is one of the best I ever experienced.

So when Japan re-open borders, we delayed/pending our subscriptions. We went to Japan, and our snack-pile still enough. But in December 2022, they have interesting offers. We’ll get free gifts (Sake Cup, Box Wrapper, and Kimono) just by extend our subscriptions. So from January 2023 we started our subscriptions again, and this month we also got their Limited Edition “Sakura Box”. Usually their box comes with Orange Color, but sometimes they had Limited Edition like “Sakura Box” or the Black Box (theme: “Otsukimi Harvest) on October 2022.
This March 2023 their theme is “Sakura in Kyoto“, so mostly of their snacks are origin from Kyoto. There is also from Akita, Niigata, Nagano, Okayama, Kagoshima, Nara, Osaka, Kanagawa, and Tokyo. Since their theme is Sakura, so of course their snacks too: Sakura Horohoro, Sakura Mochi, Sakura Souffle, Sakura Cake. What Kyoto famous of? Matcha! This box have: Uji Matcha Chocolate Cookie, Organic Genmaicha Tea, Kyoto Uji Matcha Dango Mochi, Handmade Matcha Choco Arare.
We never got bored of Japan snacks, or in this case Bokksu. Cheers for more Japan snacks, thank you Bokksu it was a nice decision to subscribe. Let’s keep snacking!
